Congratulations goes out to last years mayors race winner Caitlyn McDonnell, who raised over $6000 in votes. Missy Veiga came in second with close to $4000, followed by Ruby Reilly with just over $2000. Thank you to all our Mayor candidates for working so hard to raise this money. The annual Mad Hatters Ball will be held at the Barker Tavern March, 7th, from 7 PM to midnight. The evenings festivities will include dinner, dancing, and an Irish Step Dance demonstration. The 5th annual St. Pats Plunge into the chilly Atlantic Ocean will be held on March14th at Peggotty Beach at noon. Pledge forms will be available at locations around town. Anyone raising $100 or more in pledges will receive an official St. Pats Plunge beach towel.
An afternoon of fun for the kids with the Toe Jam Band, Face Painting, Balloon Animals, Arts & Crafts, A Mini Zoo, and other fun stuff, February 28th, 10AM to 2PM, at the Community Building (Formerly Pier 44). Sponsored by the Scituate Recreation Dept. $10 pp up to four then $5 pp for each additional family member.
To be held at The Mill Wharf Restaurant March 12th 6:30 – 7:30 PM Cocktails, Dinner at 7:30 PM Results of Mayors race and presentations to the Rose of the Parade and the Grand Marshal at 8:30 PM.
The Parade Committee thanks all of last years sponsors and welcomes new sponsors. A $250.00 sponsor will be acknowledged on the official parade web site. A $500 sponsor will be acknowledged on the web site, and company name to be displayed on a Rolling Billboard that will be seen around town on the day of the parade. A $1,000 donation will receive all the above plus company name on major sponsor banners to be posted on Rt. 3A and in Scituate Harbor at the Village Market. Larger corporate sponsors will also be mentioned in our print ads and on the radio. Deadline for Corporate sponsors is February 22nd, 2014.
